I got the a few questions from Zarina and it’s a pleasure to reflect on them and share the answers for those who are interested.

❓ How you plan your activities short term (for the next day)?

I follow the good weather in summer or the good snow in winter. Below how I plan depending on the season.

☀️ Summer

I check usually the day before where the sunny weather is. I go to www.meteoblue.com and usually search for “Sarnen” because is more or less close to the center of Switzerland 🇨🇭 . There is a feature called where2go and with this it tells me where it will be most sunny. I do further checks for temperatures and wind specially when cycling to try to accommodate to the wind and in which altitude I want to move when defining the route.

If cold 🥶 and short days, I would look for south faces and if possible east to west direction

I get on early (5-6am range usually) on a train 🚅 towards that direction and create a route mostly in https://map.schweizmobil.ch/ (Strava maps, Komoot I use sometimes) and draw something, sometimes I might change slighlty were to start on the way… I’m a happy user of the Swiss general abonnement travel card (Public transport yearly ticket) which is the best tool I could ever think for moving endlessly and easily through Switzerland 🇨🇭 (and Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 ).

I would say 20-30% of the time I do what originally planned and sometimes I see things interesting along the way and modify as well as cut because I think is a good enough day. That’s what I love from having some days alone… I feel no gilt of changing plans.
