It was one week before September 27, 2024 when Yves got a slot but he missed the pair of the original sign up. So I got ask and the answer was a yes , I can make it.
Planning time was ticking ⏳ , so we sketch quickly the route to

Checkpoints
Early wake up to take the very first train and have enough time for vertical.coffee.
A few minutes after 6 the race started and we headed towards Checkpoint Capanna Gesero . Temperatures in the valley where quite ok, so after few minutes riding we got good body temperature.
We had a few kms in the valley before Wahoo sent the alert of the next climb… Almost 1800m+ in one shot… That’s going to keep us warm 🔥 despite the clouds and cold. The climb was mostly asphalt, a traverse in gravel and then a last part that was quite rough gravel, difficult to ride it… so some hike a bike was required.
When we got to the hut, there was some little snow around, it kept cloudy and was around 2ºC 🥶. We got in, got a coffe, got the stamp, layer up 🧥👖 and head towards Roveredo GR. It started with a small gravel traverse and a full 1700m downhill on asphalt… a rollercoaster 🎢 or road.
